Program Notes from Garrett:
Two years ago I wrote a duet for piano and cello, and a close friend of mine, Joshua, played the cello part; we bonded over our premiere of my work. Last summer, I received news that he had been hospitalized because of a failed heart surgery. Just days after hospitalization, he passed away at the age of 14. I am telling this story through my piece, Reminiscence.
