This 2nd series of Valses Melancoliques (Melancholic Waltzes) by composer Stephan Beneking is called "The Swans." This collection includes 12 colorful and romantic waltzes ranging from C minor to B minor. Pianist Danaë Xanthe Vlasse performs these works in a masterful way, bringing interpretive variety to each waltz such that each piece portrays distinct character, and all are a delight to hear!
Danaë Xanthe Vlasse is a Los Angeles based pianist and an MTNA Nationally Certified Teacher with over a decade of teaching experience. As a composer she has received awards from international composition competitions as well as recognition from the Music Teacher’s National Association for her teaching repertoire. Mrs. Vlasse welcomes collaborations with other musicians and frequently promotes performance repertoire from living composers because she feels there is no greater validation for composers than to hear their art come alive in performance!

Beneking composes in neo-classical, melodic style for piano solo.
